Public institutions and civil society organizations join forces for a more effective response to cases of violence.

The National Agency for the Prevention and Combatting of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (ANPCV) brought together 30 representatives of non-governmental organizations and civil society in a coordination meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of violence prevention and response.

This initiative aligns with the mandate of ANPCV, as established by Government Decision No. 926/2023, to strengthen interinstitutional cooperation and ensure ongoing dialogue between authorities, civil society, and development partners, in order to support a more effective intervention in preventing and responding to violence.

"Preventing and combating violence is a shared responsibility. No institution can succeed alone. It requires a collective effort based on collaboration, trust, and active involvement from the entire civil society," stated Viorica Țîmbalari, Director General of ANPCV.

During the meeting, participants discussed the launch of the National Program for the Specialization and Training of Professionals Working in the Field of Violence Prevention and Response. The program will be implemented based on an accredited curriculum, developed using international experiences and best practices, and will be intended for professionals directly involved in managing cases of violence.

Non-governmental organizations will have the opportunity to integrate this program into their local-level activities, thus ensuring ongoing training for professionals and volunteers. A positive example was presented by the organization “Artemida”, which successfully implemented an effective community-based training model.

Another important topic addressed during the meeting concerned the improvement of data reporting by civil society organizations. Currently, many of the activities and results achieved by local NGOs are not sufficiently reflected in institutional reports, despite their significant contribution to protecting and supporting victims of violence.

In this context, ANPCV announced that it will continue to develop a clear and coherent mechanism for collaboration with the associative sector, in order to ensure that the efforts of organizations are more visible and better acknowledged at the national level.

At the same time, ANPCV aims to promote the establishment of a unified training system for justice professionals, including criminal investigation officers, prosecutors, and judges, capable of ensuring a coordinated, effective, and victim-centered response.

At the end of the meeting, ANPCV and "Artemida" signed a cooperation agreement that sets out an action plan dedicated to strengthening the capacity of multidisciplinary teams in the northern region of the country.
